FAB attends Fleur de Ville, San Francisco

FAB was rewarded for winning runner up “Best use of floral materials” for their SF Pride Fleurs de Villes Rainbow trailblazer, Bayard Rustin.

Rustin was a openly gay black civil rights leader in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s and close advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. He helped to organize the 1963 March on Washington and laid the groundwork for the Montgomery Bus Boycott. They used corn husks for his blazer, hanging amaranthus and strawflower. His pants were made from finch bird seed mix, hanging amaranthus and straw flower.
